The very hungry caterpillar diy

Hello peeps,

This blog post is all about the diy activity inspired by the book THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR by Eric Carle. This book was on my baby wish list even before the baby was born. Such a beautifully illustrated book with eye catching patterns and colours which kids (and parents) will love.

This board book shows the butterfly metamorphosis and helps to teach kids about different days of the week, counting numbers, different food items, healthy and unhealthy eating habits. Also it have small holes on each page for those little fingers to poke. Without any doubt I could say that this is a must have book in every kid’s library.

Inspired by Eric’s beautify caterpillar I have made my own version using egg carton. Check it out:

Materials required:

1. Egg carton

2. Acrylic colours

3. Scissors

4. Glue

5. Sticky note or white paper

Simple enough …right??

Though my kiddo is too small to learn the metamorphosis of a butterfly, he thoroughly enjoys the beautiful pictures especially the colourful butterfly. Now I could make the reading session more lively with this diy caterpillar.

I bought this book on sale from Amazon . Do try this simple diy and please let me know. Follow me on insta Meenu_Mohanan for more diy ideas.

Thank you,

Meenu
